Based on statistics, acne is one of the most common skin conditions, affecting roughly 40 to 50 million individuals per year. This type of condition occurs when the pores of the skin are blocked with oil, dead skin, or bacteria. It is important to know that acne can occur at any given age, but it is most common in teenagers or adolescents. There are lots of types of acne, and usually have similar treatments – blackheads and whiteheads are the two kinds of acne we usually heard.

What are their differences? Whiteheads and blackheads are a combination of dead skin cells, oil and sebum. They only differ on the type of pore – whiteheads are closed pores while the latter stays open. Aside from such, both acne types are caused by a similar condition too; people tend to get these when their hormones produce too much oil and dead skin that it’s supposed to.
